Hi.This year I am teaching a combined kindergarten and grade one class, and this is all new to me as I was teaching older children for the past 8 years. I am wondering how frequently should I read with all my students. I am finding it difficult to meet with all students, manage centers and daily 5 activities and reading groups. Any suggestions. Also, Daily 5 is all new to me and I am trying to implement this as well.

This is not a response to your question, but a link that will take you to an area on the Discussion Board that is especially for kindergarten topics. I think you’ll get lots of ideas there.

The Daily CAFE Discussion Board

Looking for information and support for using The Daily 5 and CAFE methods in your kindergarten classroom? We’ve learned first-hand how well they work. See what others do and ask questions here!

I would also suggest that you use the Search feature on the main page of the website to find videos and articles that can be of help to you.
