I love talking about “read the pictures” with kids of all ages. Sometimes older kids think this is not for them. I’ve come across an old, but valuable resource to use for this lesson with all age kids.
I have several Zoo Books magazines that I’ve saved over the years for research, etc. But the other day I had one of those “ah-ha” moments and thought these wonderful mags would be great for this purpose. The text is too difficult for most of my kids to read, but they are so rich in photos, drawings, etc, that they would serve this purpose well! I also got online and found some new titles I didn’t have.
I can’t wait to try them out later this week! I’d love to hear about other sources you have for this strategy!!
