Does anyone have a phonics program that they really like and works well with Daily Five?
My district uses Words Their Way as our primary word study program for all grades, and the word sorts and other activities do fit well in Daily 5. In addition to that, our K-2 classes, also use The Phonics Dance, which we see as a powerful early phonics program. The two programs go well together, and support the accuracy strategies described in CAFE.
We use 95% group material. Our data has shown that our students are struggling with being accurate readers. This program is very systematic. We are working on connecting Cafe strategies and materials with the students so they apply these skills in their reading.
