I teach 2nd grade and I’ve done Daily 5 for the last few years and love it!!! Especially getting away from all of the “busy work” I made kids do. That being said - everywhere I turn there are Morning Work editing Pages, or DOL, or morning math etc… They seem like great pages BUT are they actually meaningful? Are they helpful? Or just more busy work? Just curious about what people think?

Hi Amy, I can tell you what we have found. There is little to no transfer of those isolated sheets to student reading and writing! Much better off to provide that type of instruction imbedded within real text, where comprehension supports their reading, with you guiding them.
