My school is looking at changing our weekly Literacy planner to reflect the Daily 5. Our Reading planners currently look at text types, foci for shared reading, Daily 5 rotations, teacher foci groups for each day. I would love to hear from teachers the way they record their Daily 5 lessons For e.g our Prep teacher changed the proforma so that it showed 2 short sharp whole class reading foci sessions with 2 rotations of Daily 5 activities which they children chose.

At the link below, you’ll find a copy of the curriculum calendar the Sisters use.

There are also other articles linked from that spot that might help with your planning. If you do specific searches from the main page, you can probably find other resources to assist with your planning. If you have other questions, please post them here. Have fun planning!!

Long range planning CAFE

I'm contemplating writing long range plans for next year. Have any of you written long range plans and do you have any tips or advice for me?
