This Quick Start Guide will help you learn what you need to know to get Work on Writing up and running smoothly.

1. Review Downloads
Print and review the following downloads. We follow the same procedure when launching Work on Writing that we do when launching Read to Self

2. Pre-teach Work-on-Writing Skills
Before launching Work on Writing, we teach the skills listed in the The First 5 Days of Preteaching Skills. 

3. Work on WritingT
hese lessons are essential if Work on Writing is going to run smoothly.

4. Choice and Check-In
After building stamina for Work on Writing, Heather and Gail introduce the class to choosing between Read to Self and Work on Writing. Heather uses the Check-In Sheet and records each of the students' choices.
