As students are working independently during Daily 5, we sometimes see a child or two who appear off task. When this happens we observe to see if they reset and reengage or if they remain off task. If they remain off task, we hold a brief conference to discuss the behavior we see, teach the on task behavior we wish to see, and goal set.
