Since our district walked away from a traditional basal series 5 years ago, our big books for K-1 have been diminishing. My teachers have voiced their need for updated Big Books. However, I am not finding many companies that sell Big Books without purchasing an entire program. Does anyone have suggestions on where to purchase? Also is this a practice that is now outdated?
It's certainly not an outdated pracatice, but perhaps one that get pushed to the back=burner with all the expectations these days.
i do know that Hameray Publishers, who do a lot of publishing by and for Reading Recovery teachers, has many beautiful big books--both fiction and non-fiction. You can buy them individually or as sets. Here's a link: https://www.hameraypublishing.com/collections/big-books
