In the Tip of the Week today, Allison shared about her daughter who's graduating from HS, and her memories of her school years. Got me to thinking about what the studens in my intervention classes would remember about this year. I hope they remember that our room was a safe place, where we could talk about whatever was on their minds. That is was a comfortable place where they might be able to let go of difficulties or struggles happening in their home rooms. I hope they recall how we built a community for a little while each day from a mixture of classrooms. Of course, I also hope they remember some of the great books we shared, and that they will continue to read over the summer.
What do you want your students from this year to remember? What do you want to build into your classroom next year that held buld great memories.
