What is the definition of balanced literacy?
I like this graphic I found at google images about balanced literacy. The steps to independence are down the middle with the emphasis on oral for reading and visual for writing. Fits in with Daily 5/CAFE very well. Also, remember the Sisters suggest a Writing workshop outside of the D5/C time.
