A great picture book can be used to teach almost any CAFE Menu strategy or lesson. But isn't it nice to have a jumping-off point? That is what Lit Lessons and Book Looks provide.

Book Looks are brief in nature, giving a short synopsis of the book and a few possible strengths for strategy instruction. If you are looking for some new must-have titles, you'll get some great ideas here. If you have any of these titles on your shelves already, you might want to jot the strategy possibilities on a sticky note and put it inside the front cover of the book. You'll be ready for a brief focus lesson whenever you need it.

Lit Lessons also provide a short synopsis of the book and a few possible strengths for strategy instruction. However, Lit Lessons are longer, providing even more support and detailed information about teaching possibilities. Print and tuck them into the cover of the books you own and you'll always be ready for a lesson.
