Summer Safety

It’s another hot summer day. When you must be outdoors in the hot weather, remember these safety tips to stay cool and healthy:

  • Stay out of the direct sun.
  • Rest often.
  • Reschedule outdoor exercise or other strenuous tasks for early morning or late evening hours.
  • Drink two to four glasses of cool, nonalcoholic fluids every hour, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
  • Wear light and loose-fitting clothing.
  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher.
  • Be aware of the temperature. The higher it gets and the longer it lasts, the more dangerous it is.

Take care of yourself and others by following these simple tips.
