Slow Down and Let Go

Sometimes I think there are only two instructions we need to follow to develop and deepen our spiritual life: slow down and let go.

We live at the speed of light. Go faster, get there quicker, do more! Multi-task, talk quickly, run, and then do it all over again. It's hard to remain totally focused when life is a blur. It's okay to be on the fast track and to love the speed, but we also need to balance the speed with calmer, slower motion.

When we reduce the chaos around us we are able to develop the calm needed for our spiritual growth. We need to let go of some of the chaos, especially the activities that bring us stress and worry.

The time in now to begin practicing a slower momentum. Find the calm that will allow you to grow from within.

Practice this slower speed until you feel your life is less chaotic. It may take weeks of practice to reach the calm you need, to focus within where your peace lives.

Only with calm can we let go of the flurry and speed of life and find our deeper focus.
