Setting New Goals

Goals keep us focused and engaged to make progress toward an outcome. We set goals all through our lives. We plot milestones and end points along our journey and celebrate when we have accomplished what we set out to do. We also have dreams and wishes, and although we don't always think of them as goals, many of our dreams come true with work and ongoing efforts to make them real.

Goals keep us motivated with something to strive for and to look forward to. Dreams keep our minds ever imagining the impossible, and together they help keep us young and energetic.

As we go through phases and decades of our lives, we can look back and see our accomplishments. These accomplishments are a direct result of goals and dreams that we have had. You may be tired and thinking it would be easy to sit back and say, "I've done enough! It's time to relax and celebrate what I have done."

Just remember, you aren't finished yet. There is much more life out there, so don't forget to set that new goal and to dream a new dream. It's guaranteed to keep you motivated and young.
