For Math!

Over the years we have had many teachers come to us and ask, “Is there a CAFE Menu for Math Daily 3?”

For the longest time, our answer was no. We knew a menu similar to CAFE would be helpful for our teachers. But we wanted a math menu that went beyond being helpful and gave all students, regardless of grade level, the tools necessary to be proficient in math.

We are excited to share that in 2021 we are launching a math menu. Similar to how the CAFE Menu holds reading strategies, the math menu will contain effective strategies mathematicians use when problem solving.

This math menu is created around its own acronym, PATH, so it won’t be confused with CAFE, our literacy menu. It is simple to remember, research based, and contains specific strategies that all students, regardless of grade level, use to access mathematical concepts. It provides students a “PATH” toward becoming a proficient mathematician.

Over the next few weeks we will be releasing articles that support you in using this menu, with the full release of the PATH Menu coming February 5. We start this week by sharing how the PATH Menu was created.

Stay tuned . . . we can't wait to share more!
