Five Tips for Healthy Holiday Shopping

Carol Moehrle

The holiday season undoubtedly brings shopping. Some of us love this task, and others dread it. Whether you love it or dread it, there are strategies that can help you stay healthy as you venture into the hustle and bustle of stores and sales.

Here are five tips to keep in mind:

  • Stretch before and after a long day of shopping.
  • Wear comfortable shoes with cushioning in the sole to absorb the impact of walking on hard floors.
  • Rather than carrying your purse, wear a light backpack. Keep it light by just packing essentials.
  • Take a break every hour.
  • Drink plenty of water and have healthful snacks on hand.

These tips will help you stay physically strong throughout your shopping experience.

Once you have all those presents home and the wrapping begins, mind your posture, take frequent breaks, and relax those muscles with some more stretching.

If you keep these things in mind, you won't shop till you drop...you'll just shop till you stop. Happy bargain hunting!
