Number sense is the foundation of our mathematical system. In this simple activity, Edguardo practices putting numbers in order, using the sand timer to check his progress. This could be a daily number game for students to choose from.

Changing the stack of cards from one digit to 3, 4 or 5 digits, or even fractions and decimals, will up the complexity of the task. Students who need to practice writing their numbers might practice with the purpose of preparing number cards for others to use for sorting from lowest to highest or highest to lowest.
