COVID-19 Update & Encouragement—4.3.20

COVID-19 issues continue to change frequently and are playing out differently across the country. Everyone continues to work toward one collective outcome, attempting to control the spread of the virus.

Almost everyone by now is under “Staying at home” directives. As hard as this is for each of us, this is still our best defense against this virus. Thank you for doing your part to help stop the spread of this virus.

I’ve said since the beginning, this is a marathon, not a sprint. We are seeing and hearing anxiety and concern everywhere. This is to be expected in these times of unknown. We need to focus on things we can control, and building our own resilience, mentally and physically. Don’t forget to Breathe! Practice deep breathing whenever the anxiety creeps into your mind.

We need to find our mental toughness to run this marathon. We need to care for our mental and physical health, and look to your family, circle of friends and neighbors to make sure they are holding up ok during these times as well. Have you texted your family today? Have you reached out by phone, txt or social media to your circle of friends? We need to support each other, now more than ever.

We need to stay positive and help those that are having a hard time finding something to be positive about. Our mental health is key to getting through these challenging times. Check on your family. Reach out to the elderly that are most vulnerable.

These are certainly unknown times for all of us. We have never encountered anything like this in our lives. But through all the uncertainty, I know we will pull through this together. Take a deep breath. We can do this!
