Common Core Alignment–8th-Grade CAFE Menu

The Common Core State Standards define the knowledge and skills students should have when leaving a particular grade level. You will notice that the eighth-grade CAFE Menu aligned with the Common Core does not contain as many standards that align with CAFE strategies. This is because of the fact that many eighth-grade students do not need direct instruction in accuracy strategies or sight-word recognition. However, eighth-grade students will still benefit from having access to all strategies in the CAFE Menu to assist them if they come to a word they are unsure of.
