A new school year is upon us, and as we prepare our classrooms and lesson plans, it’s also time to prepare our minds and hearts.

Starting with a positive focus on balancing work, home, and self-care will set the tone for a healthy, successful year.

Through positive energy and thoughts, we can maintain joy in our daily work at school and home. We can encourage those around us, students as well as other teachers.

Each day requires attention to balance, and caring for ourselves is critical while we manage school and home. Self-care through positive thinking, deep breathing, adequate sleep, and healthful foods will set the tone for a successful year.

The start of a new school year needs only optimism. There is no room for skepticism or a focus on the negative. Think and act only with positive thoughts and actions to make this school year a blessing to yourself and all those around you.
