Ability, Motivation, Attitude

Ability is what you're capable of doing.  Motivation determines what you do.  Attitude determines how well you do it.  —Lou Holtz

We are all born with innate abilities to survive and thrive in this world.  The people around us and the positive energy and encouragement we receive from others often determine how motivated we are.  Only with this positive motivation do we set and accomplish our goals.  But above all, our own attitude determines how well we fulfill our dreams.

When I look at children or young adults who are still affected by adult leaders, I think of teachers and the role they play in motivating children and influencing their lives.

People often require someone to direct and nudge and praise them before they can find their own positive attitude and keep themselves motivated. But no matter who motivates us or how we are motivated to reach our goals, it still takes our own attitude to make it happen.

Has there been someone in your life who has helped to motivate you? Have you helped to motivate others? What an enlightening exercise to reflect on those who have affected your life. If you have been influenced by a teacher, it's never too late to say, "Thank you."

Use your abilities and positive attitude to motivate others. Your world will be a happier place for all.
