The Healing Power of Children

The soul is healed by being with children.
—Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Blessed are the teachers who touch the minds and hearts of our children every day.

Children reestablish our youthful spirits. Being around children opens our minds to the joys of play and comfort. We feel comfortable snuggling with a child, and the nearness of their little bodies brings a healing calm to our adult world.

When was the last time you engaged in child's play? The acts of being a child are uplifting to adults. Engaging in make-believe and pretend is good for the adult mind and soul. As adults we often forget the comfort of letting the tasks of the day go and just playing.

Do you remember the last time you were around a very young child? It's hard not to smile and laugh and squeal with excitement at their every new accomplishment. Just the presence of a young child will make you smile more as you enjoy their simple tasks and accomplishments.

The sparks of mischief and the looks of understanding that children easily display are captured by the adult soul if we allow time to look and take them in.

If you are having a bad day, it is quickly made better by being with a child.

Those who are fortunate to live with and around children are truly blessed, as children heal the cracks in the adult soul.
