Each Day Is a Loan

Each day is a loan; spend it wisely.

We spend most of our days in routine activities, sometimes just going through the motions and almost in a daze. Do you have a set routine that you go through each day? I certainly do. My internal alarm clock is programmed to wake before 5am. I have a morning routine in the quiet of my home, and then I have a 30-minute commute to work. My workday starts before 7 a.m. and I have some precious uninterrupted time before the rest of the staff arrivses. I have been in this routine for decades.

Reading this quote made me consider how wisely I spend my days. I love the career that chose me, and I look forward to each day with passion and excitement about what I may influence that day. I have to admit that I spend more time mentally and physically at work than at home, which is something I hope to readjust in my life.

As we learn how precious each day is in our life, and the lives of others, we also figure out that our days are limited or lent to us on a temporary basis. Are you spending your days wisely? Are you taking advantage of new opportunities and new challenges that may come to you? Do you have the right balance between work and home, work and play, work and time to recharge?

If you are like me, it's time to reassess the days we have been lent, and determine if changes are needed.

"Each day is a loan; spend it wisely."
