The Instruction Protocol is a lesson framework and a scaffold for each interaction we have with students. It frames our whole-group, small-group, and individual lessons. When we come to the student with a structure that we can count on to support their learning and the confidence that our teaching will be successful, our cognitive memory is freed for the task in front of us. We can truly focus on what that child needs to move forward.

The Instruction Protocol works in any setting, with any content, at any time, so that teaching can be intuitive and intentional. Take time to read more about this protocol in The CAFE Book, expanded second edition, or hear about it in the Chapter 4 book study, and then use the template below as you work to commit this teaching framework to memory.
