Joan and Gail review the CAFE strategies interactively with 6th-grade students. Engagement is high as they reflect on their knowledge and use of the strategies and then determine which banner individual strategies fit under: Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency or Vocabulary.
Though this lesson took place at the beginning of the year, it would be appropriate any time you want to review or assess with students.
Students use a personal CAFE Menu to determine the best place for the strategy cards they are unsure about.
In part three, students continue to test their knowledge of the CAFE Menu strategies.
