John Hattie's Visible Learning research supports the evidence based practices that make up Prepared Classroom.
The question Hattie built his research around was “Which variables have the greatest impact on student achievement?” He has studied this question for the past 25 years, looked at over 108,000 studies, and 300 million students. WOW! He has identified more than 320 factors that influence student achievement, and calculated an effect size for each. Any factor that has an effect size of .4 or higher illustrates a year’s growth, or more!
We couldn’t help but highlight these four teacher related factors that have high effect sizes, thus great impact on student achievement. Applying Prepared Classroom will help you become the credible, effective teacher that your students need!
Here we are highlighting many of the factors that are prevalent in Prepared Classroom. Click on the factor to go directly to the definition page on the Meta X site. Take a look at this comprehensive list of factors Hattie studied.
These are the nine courses that teach Prepared Classroom. Each covers one or more of the influences in the table above.
