We all have days when our students seem to have forgotten the expectations for one of the Daily 5 choices. If it is just one off day for the class and things get back to normal the day after, no problem. But what if the behavior seems to be getting worse? What should we do when independent behaviors begin to slip?

This video shows how we revisit the I-Chart to reestablish what Listen to Reading should look like, feel like, and sound like. Janet Scott uses a technique called "Going Three Point" by Michael Grinder, a neurolinguistic programming expert. Rather than take a position of authority, stating her expectations, Janet anchors the children back to the I-Chart they created together. The chart then becomes the "third point" and carries the message rather than her. Watch while the children are reminded of how they defined success for Listen To Reading.
