Trey, a fifth grader, has a goal for himself to read 120 books this year. In this video, Rachel and Joan confer with him on what they think might be his next goal. Trey has other ideas. He does not want to be slowed down to work on any strategy, for any reason. If he slows down he will not be able to meet his goal. Listen to the finesse Rachel uses as she gently discusses ways for Trey to work on Vocabulary without slowing him down.

This is a must-see video if you have students that are reading well above grade level and may benefit from a bit of a nudge. Plus, Trey will make you smile.
