As an end of the year gift, I used the Scholastic bonus points I've collected for the past two years to get each of my students a copy of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo.

It was one of our all time favorite read alouds, so it seemed like the perfect send off present. Since we've had a miraculous journey in first grade this year, I wove that theme into an end of year letter for parents and will tuck it into an envelope with each child's report card.

This photo will be the cover. I'm including the letter in case you'd like to modify the idea and make it your own, celebrating a book or experience that was particularly meaningful in your classroom community this year.
