Joan and Janet Hamilton, a self contained special education teacher at Crestline Elementary in Vancouver Washington, launch Read to Someone with her group of third, fourth, and fifth grade students. Joan connects Read to Someone with the behaviors they already know regarding Read to Self, layering on only two new behaviors, EEKK and I Read You Read. Notice the enthusiasm these student have for being able to read to other students or even the adults in the class.

In this second video, Joan and Janet debrief the introduction lesson of Read to Someone.

On this first day of Read to Someone, most students are having a high level of success with the first components of the I-Chart.
