Students with experience choosing partners are sometimes aware of the negative feelings that result when the words "Will you be my partner?" are delivered in an insincere tone, or when a request to be partners is denied. In this video, Gail and Joan share the skills needed to choose a partner while preserving the positive relationships upon which the classroom community is built.  These sixth graders remind us once again how intuitive and caring young people can be.

This video could be shown to a class just learning about picking partners.  Showing a class what other students think, believe, and feel could spark interesting discussions and deepen their understanding about choosing partners respectfully.
