Perhaps it is this time of year that has many of us dreaming of being home and curling up with a great book. Students really are no different! Recently we were in Pam's room in Vancouver and couldn't help but to snap a picture of one of her students during Daily 5. Pam and many of her colleagues have a basket of blankets available in the classroom so children can grab one when they wish.

Not only does the temperature of classrooms vary wildly this time of year, but some of our more at risk students may also find comfort in the weight of a lap blanket.
