21 Things that became Obsolete this Decade (website)

Printer-Friendly Format

Have you heard Brad Paisley's song, Welcome to the Future? It starts out,

"When I was ten years old, I remember thinking how cool it would be when we were going on an eight hour drive, if I could just watch T.V. And I'd have given anything to have my own PacMan game at home. I used to have to get a ride down to the arcade; now I've got it on my phone. Hey, glory, glory, hallelujah, welcome to the future."

The lyrics continue on, reminding us in ways both amusing and deeply poignant of how much things have changed since we were young. In fact, the past decade alone has brought advancements that stagger the imagination.

We recently came upon this interesting article which reveals 21 things that became obsolete this past decade. As you scroll through the slides, you'll be reminded of and maybe surprised by a few items on the list. Just as interesting are the 15 gadgets that changed everything this past decade.

Welcome to the future.
