FAQ - How else might students declare their goals?

Printer-Friendly Format

This fabulous variation on declaring individual goals comes from Roberta Hart, a first grade teacher in Dresden, Maine.

"I am trying something new with my Literacy CAFE board this year. I was looking at a way to make it even more personal for my first graders and to help them remember exactly which strategy they were working on. I hit on the idea of using the pictures I took of them on the first day of school. I printed out several copies in a contact sheet form to get small photos, then laminated them."

"I am using a repositional glue stick to attach the photos onto the actual strategy card on the menu. We all can see at a glance exactly what strategy each student is working on. They definitely are looking at and focusing on our Menu as a result! We love looking at all those cute little faces all day, too!"

Thanks Roberta, we love your idea!
