Lit for Kids (WEBSITE)
We spent the better part of this week teaching workshops in Portland, OR. We love Portland; the city, people, tax free shopping, and great food. But arguably, one of our favorite things about going to Portland is that we have a chance to see our friend, Ruth Shagoury. For those of you who don't know Ruth, she is a brilliant woman, author of many books for educators, Dr. of Education, professor at Lewis and Clark, baker extraordinaire, hostess of the mostest, and one of the smartest, kindest, and hippest women we know! We are so lucky to call her friend. With many accomplishments on her resume' already, Ruth has a new title to add as well: Webmaster. Ruth and her daughter have a website out called: Lit for Kids, www.litforkids.com. It is a powerful resource for teachers, parents and children alike. We hope you will give yourself the gift of spending time on the site this summer checking out all the amazing things it has to offer. While there, you will see a myriad of books for children, listed by age, a treasure trove of great websites, book recommendations by kids and weekly posts as well! So grab your computer and check out www.litforkids.com. It is sure to be one at the top of your bookmarked list!
