FAQ - Could I start Daily 5™ Mid-Year?

Printer-Friendly Format

Aren't you excited when you hear a great idea that you can take to your classroom the very next day? But what if it's a great idea that involves stepping back and reteaching behaviors and procedures? When should you start? Many of you have asked if you can begin teaching the Daily 5™ mid-year.

When we were first developing Daily 5™ we started mid-year. If you started Daily 5™ at the beginning of the year, great! If you didn't and are interested, jump in. It's not too late. It will involve a bit of backing up and working on expectations, but this is a perfect time. We like to start the New Year with reflection, revision, and the redirection Daily 5™ provides and brings so much benefit to our students.

You may want to review the "Quick Start Guides" below. They are designed to support you as you take this exciting leap.
