FAQ - What's new from The Sisters?

Click on the PD Library Link to read about our new DVDs.

A: We are thrilled to announce the release of the first of four brand new PD library DVDs. We get more requests to consult in schools than we can physically accommodate, so we created these to fill that need. These programs will help us be part of your professional development conversations, even if we aren't present, and the exciting part is that the topics have come from you!

These brief programs answer the most common questions we hear from teachers all over the country. We've narrowed the focus of each presentation in the library so that we can answer in depth, mixing theory and practice from our own work in classrooms. The presentations are tailored for use in staff meetings, grade level teams or any other professional learning community you may have in your school.

These videos are short by design -- their length of 20 to 30 minutes is just right for the curriculum portion of your staff meetings. Each video includes a presentation by us. We present a question or problem, and then a research-based solution and practical tips. The centerpiece of the program is always classroom video footage, illustrating the issues we're discussing. If you're leading a meeting which includes the viewing of one of these videos, you can download discussion prompts and other support materials right from the web.

Schools need high quality professional development resources available to them, but budgets are tight. We hope you find the 'Sisters Professional Development Library' is an affordable alternative to onsite consultants or more expensive PD in a box programs. We've worked with a technology team to ensure the highest production values -- we really want to recreate for you the experience of seeing us live.
